    Okay, I'm a linux newb. Bought his computer for some basic operations (web, mail, word processor, etc) but I absolutely hate the acer basic interface. So, I did the following...

    Ran sudo mousepad /etc/xdg/xfce4-session/xfce4-session.rc

    changed two lines...

    Client0_Command=xfdesktop-xfce
    and
    Client3_Command=xfce-mcs-manager.new

    Now I can't load into the desktop anymore. My right click is disabled and I have to use the alt+F2 method to do anything on the machine.

    Does anyone know how I can get back to my standard desktop?

    Thought about undoing your changes? Use alt+f2 run xterm, sudo mousepad the xfce4-session.rc and change the lines back to their previous state. If you search on the forums aswell theres some easier ways to get advanced mode running. I'd write more but I don't have my AAO to hand to see what the file is supposed to be.
