POSITIONING ICONS ON DESKTOP

WHEN I DRAG AN ICON TO A SPECIFIC PLACE ON MY DESKTOP IT JUMPS TO THE END SPOT OF ALL MY ICONS WHEN I RELEASE DRAGGING. HOW CAN I MOVE MY ICONS TO ANY PLACE ON MY DESKTOP AND KEEP THEM THERE?

 

Windows??

Right click on Desktop/Arrange Icons by and untick Auto Arrange...

Just for your info : Typing in all capital letters is considered bad form on web based forums.
First of all, it is considered as textual shouting.
Second of all, it actually makes your post harder to read and heightens the chance that people will disregard your post, and not help out with your inquiry - quite the opposite desired result of your intention, which probably was to draw attention to your post.
And finally it leaves the impression that you run around with a capital L stamped on your forehead.

For your own good, don't do it in the future.
