Hi there. I've been trying to install iAtakos, by restoring the iso to my iPod nano, using disk utility on a Macbook.

It seems to work fine, but then I try to boot from USB on the One, and it just jumps straigh back to Vista. So no luck there!

I've tried partioning with both MBR and GUID, and I've also tried a few guides I've found online about installing from USB drives, but I don't think they are working...

    Any definitive tips?

you need to make the ipod bootable, follow other "thumbdrives" guides to get this going. Simply restoring a bootable image to a USB devices does not do it.

    Strange, it *should* work...

are you sure it is working and not just kernel panicking etc and its an error and it restarts? ie does the "darwin bootloader" load up when you try and boot off the cd? should ask you if you want to specify any boot commands

No, I'm not getting anything like that, I don't see any messages before Vista boots... So as mentioned, I think I have to try harder to make the iPod bootable.

But if it 'should' work then I'll get back too it. I'll try again. Thanks.

Google is your friend: ipod + bootable
Like most things Apple, some ipods do, and some don't,
and it doesn't correlate with age or size. Good Luck ;)
