Does anyone else have their power buttons sort of recessed into the plastic, making it harder to press without using the tip of your finger? thanks.

Mine is like this, I imagine they did it to prevent accident power offs.

My Asus EEEPC's power button is relatively easy to hit when typing, especially for me. I have relatively large hands.

Mine is like that, but I don't need to use the tip of my finger. But then again, I have small fingers. Just depends on your finger size, I guess. Lol.

Mine like that too, but I have small fingers so it's not a problem to me

mine feels like it goes down about a millimeter before it actually makes contact with the button inside, like there is a little space before it makes contact. is this how everyone else's is?

Yep, mine's the same! It also makes a `springy` noise when you tap it. :D

They probably made it that way to prevent accidental power on or offs. I have a GPS device that is that way too, to prevent accidental power drain. Maybe they think we will leave our aaos open and have the cat or kids turn it on in the middle of the night!!

Mine is also slightly recessed, and I really to use the tip of my finger to press it.

There is no such thing as "accidental poweroffs" when you go to Power settings and assign the power the task of "Ask me what to do" rather than "Shutdown."

It also kinda sucks how you can't easily tell if the netbook is on (or sleeping) when you close the lid, since it covers up the power button. =/
