Power Center no longer works. Help!

    Hi guys,

    new member here, need help. After installing scim-anthy so that my Japanese wife could use the Aspire One to write in her native language, I discovered that the Power Center no longer works (when I double click it, it looks as if it's starting but then nothing happens.) Actually it could only be a coincidence, but without power management I'm pretty screwed. Is there any way to re-load the power center? I'm an absolute LINUX noob, often getting desperate and considering turning the Aspire One into a WinXP computer...
