    Is anyone else running F11 with xfce power manager and a 6-cell battery?
    I'm having trouble getting my new battery to charge past 50%.

    not a six cell but 9 cell and it works fine, has done since F10 all the way through to the current rawhide. seems like there is a problem with your battery :(

    try running
    Code:
    $ lshal -m

    while the battery is charging and watching the output, in particular the battery voltage (12.6V is full for a 3S Li battery) should show something like this when full

    Code:
    computer_power_supply_battery_BAT1 property battery.voltage.current = 12591 (0x312f)

    with the '12591' being the important part, this shows my pack is at 12.591V, which as this pack is a few months old is as close as it will get to the full 12.6V. let me know what your pack shows

    Phil, lshal -m shows my 6-cell "charged" battery voltage at 10.3V. My partially-depleted original 3-cell battery is at 11.7V. I'm in the process of returning the new 6-cell battery for exchange.
    Thanks, I was not aware of the lshal command.

    Received and installed a replacement for the 6-cell battery yesterday. It charged overnight to 98%. I'm running it through a few cycles now. But it looks like my first battery was defective.
