Power meter icon

    I have a Acer AOD150-1165, that I have had for a few years. In the past few months the power meter icon ,on the task bar,dissapears,every so often. The only way to get it back is to go to recovery and go back a day or two. Any ideas why this is occuring and how to prevent it.
