I did search and couldn't find this anywhere so apologies if it is (and please don't bite me ;) )

I bought my Acer when I was back in the UK in September (Windows XP version) and activated the 60day MSOffice trial. I am now trying to use the activation assistant to activate my legit licence but when I click the activation assistant, it just keeps opening Word documents.

MS say as it was pre-installed I should contact the manfacturer for assistance - they will charge huge amount of money to resolve.

    (a) anyone else had this problem and how did you get round it?
    (b) how do I contact the manufacturer - I can't find any instructions anywhere - am now in Africa!

I don't have a CD/DVD driver I can attach to reload from the purchased CD.

    Thanks for any help.

    Glad it worked out! ;-)

One of the first things I did was remove the Ms-Office trail and install OpenOffice 3.
