Hi, i'm trying to connect mi aspire one to my crt tv using this cable (vga to component video):
    http://images.monoprice.com/productlarg ... /21731.jpg

The image i got was pink and moves everywhere.
i change the properties to clone and extend monitor, but the image is still pink and still moving :(
Maybe there is an exact configuration for color quality, screen resolution, refresh rate??? i just left the default values for monitor.

ps: sorry about my english

I bought the same cable and I am having the same problem. When I bought it I was warned that it was a high-def cable so maybe that's why it doesn't work. I set it to external monitor and it looks pink and fuzzy and moves

VGA is an RGB signal, component (YUV) is a different signal all together.

A computer based CRT with individual RGB bnc connectors would display 31khz RGB signals no problem. Feeding in a component signal would (if the sync is on the correct pin) give a pink'ish & green image.

A 15khz TV set CRT, where you watch TV on, cannot take a 31khz signal from a computer. They can't scan that high. RGB or component, it's the scan rate that matters.

Unless there's some patch out there I don't know about , the Acer One can't output a low enough scan rate from the VGA connector to allow you to view the RGB/YUV image on an standard TV CRT.

Of course, LCD makes this all a non issue (though component usually goes into RCA jacks, not thru the VGA/DVI connector).

If you want TV out, you would need a vga to composite converter because the vga output is split into the red, blue, green, and synchro signals. The composite signal has all the above combined and the synchro frequency of ordinary CRT TV is different from the VGA output

    Also look at:
    http://www.grandtec.com/products/video/xppro.html
The Grandtec converts VGA output to multiple video formats. You can find the Grandtec GXP-2000 on Ebay for less than $50 with shipping.
