My One should arrive in a day or so (I gave up on play.com and ordered it from eBay in the end) so I shall try my Huawei E220 first but I shall keep an eye on eBay for a mini PCI modem. I hate having things sticking out of my laptop. Although I have never done it, I am always paranoid about knocking the plug and damaging my machine.

@lotus: All the best with your Acer Aspire One. I was tempted by the Lenovo S10 that launched here yesterday for $429 ($360 after coupon) but am sticking to the Acer....it seems better for some reason and I don't want 10" screen. The Acer's form factor is perfect.

I hope you find the miniPCI HSDPA card but I am thinking maybe it will be a power hog and deplete the already weak battery. It might be better to have an internal bluetooth and have it connect to 3G services via your bluetooth phone. Also, I miss my wifi too....maybe a miniPCI 802.11n +internal BT might be a cheaper and better way to go about it.

Am also tempted with putting in a USB GPS but not sure if there's enough room inside.
