Can you post print screens from two benchmark tests?

    Using this app: http://kb.ciprico.com/lore/article.php?id=268

From 1.0 to 1024.0 KB and from 64 to 8192.0 KB.

    Thanks.

that is a good price... NewEgg doesn't ship to Canada? That's so lame. That make no sense at all to me. My company ships to Canada all the time and we never have any issues at all, other than the fact that Canadians don't return things as much as Americans :D

Im in the US. PM me if you want someone to bounce it through.

I Agree the saving thing: I also done this
8GB 300x CF to hold the OS (windows xp ) and Ofiice and working program....
and mount 16 GB class 6 SDHC to Drive d: to store data, photo, music, video,....

and 32Gb CF may not be well support on AA1.

Can someone answer me , what is your 8gb ssd aa1 has 512MB RAM or 1 GB RAM ? My aa1 is 1 GB RAM (default)

I mailed the store where i bought my Transcend 16GB 300x CF card and they replied asking me to send it back for testing and if found to be faulty they will replace.

I have a really good Windows XP SP3 installation with office and lots more apps all finely tweaked which took me a long time so if possible i would like to back up the CF card so i can restore it on to the replacement card.

Is there a way i can make a perfect backup of my current installation on the CF card using my Desktop PC + Card Reader and be able to restore it when i get the replacement card?

    Thanks guys

    Hey there!
If you do end up going with the 350x CF card, please post some benchmarks! I heard the 350x is extremely fast but would like to see for myself.

    Thanks Andy..

That Confirms it then, I get the same kind of speeds on my 16GB Transcend as you know. I've looked into it a bit more and it might be something to do with the supply voltage. From what i've read the 16GB card can only go up to UDMA Mode 5 if there is a 3.3v supply but if there's a 5v supply the card will switch to UDMA Mode 4. So i'm guessing the adaptors where using are supplying 5v feeds. I think in time some clever chap will come along with a fix for this issue but my advise is the same as Andy's for now, Stick with the 8GB cards

I would assume that that is the same case with 8Gb 350x cards and 16Gb 350x cards.

It's going to get too expensive for a decent setup.

The A150 (HDD version) takes 2.5", and has a deeper case, I believe.

At this time the best method is to install to a 8GB 300x Compact Flash card using the Zif adaptor as explained earlier in this thread.

Has anyone tried the MTRON ZIF SSD drives mentioned here: http://macles.wordpress.com/2008/07/22/ ... e-on-a110/

The drives are 1.8" and states Read/Write Speed: 100/80MB/sec.

Does anyone know if the default Acer cable would would work with the MTRONS, or if these require "flip" cable? Has anyone successfully installed one of these? :)

I'll pick one up if they work, and can provide pictures of the install.

Strange behavior: ZIF Mod with Transcend 8GB 300x
Windows-Installation works fine - BIOS lists Transcend HDD.
After Shutdown on the next bootup Windows reports missing "hal.dll" or "ntoskernel.dll". Starting with F8 "Safe Mode" works fine, as does the normal Windows after restart. Then Shutdown und bootup -> "hal.dll" missing.

Same with Linpus, after Shutdown i get blinking prompt nothing else. After one or two restarts Linpus starts normal.

    Any clues?
