    runs very well, very surpised.
running on 1.5gb ram 120gb hard drive

its basically vista that uses less ram and is faster :)
and it can only get better casue its only beta atm.
btw the winxp 32bit driver works for the aspire one wifi :)

the graphics driver will update from the ms online update.

All the reviews from Windows 7 makes me willing to install it on my machine but I'll wait for the final release. I don't want Beta's... :D By the way, I was looking through forums and found that Windows 7 is for Netbooks (Intel Atom Machines), so I guess it should work fine.

Could you tell us how you installed it? I have the setup files ready, just haven't made the leap yet.

    - Did you use SD directly or USB?
    - Is it the same as vista from usb... ie, make drive bootable, transfer setup files, and it works?
    - Did you dual-boot with XP?
    - Did you create another partition first, and if so, how big and what format?
    - does the setup have a partition tool in it or do you have to do it first

Thanks, hoping to get this done myself.

    No the OP but:
    USB
    Yes, same as vista
    Dual-boot with xp
    XP partition 90 GB, Windows 7 25GB
Initially was the 115 GB for XP, then use Easeus partition manager and reduced that partition and make another. install on it.

mines started fucking up, being slow and just generally being crap. pretty big shame if you ask me.
think matlab might have done it, but i installed that 4 days ago and it was fine until today.
ill try some kind of system restore or something to fix it, because im pissed off with reinstalls.
plus its started doing chkdsk on every boot, well every second boot because it does it then reboots, doesnt do it, i turn off, then it does it etc etc
so im on leopard now just because of that lol
    the joys of dual booting

    Question,

Does the touchpad work the same with Win7?

I had an EEEPC and some things did not work right. I may leave XP in this system (Acer) if It may not run the same.

i downloaded the contents, and already had my hard drive partition, so i just installed it from within WinXP the C: drive, and then win7 setup give me the option to install into D: drive.
Have winxp pro sp3, and win7 dual booting atm.

    touchpad works fine.

i really have a weird experience about windows 7.. windows 7 should be faster than vista right? if you'll see the comparison on both index scoring on vista and 7 my score in 7 is kinda low...really weird but 7 really runs smoother than vista ultimate.

both running on 1.5gb ram and 120gb HD

You get a higher "gaming graphics" score, but a lower "aero" score, which seems very strange. I would consider it a bug in the beta software and you've still got the same hardware so it's really not much to be worried about or anything. I don't find windows to be the best benchmarking program ;)

    Hola amigos :D
Windows 7 runs perfect for me (aspire 150 ZG5 1gb, 120hd), more fast and stable than vista. No problems at all, I was quite impresed about windows update found all the drivers, everything seems to work properly, I have been testing it for about a week without any problem. Superbar is fantastic for netbooks because it keeps the screen clear of "windows", thats a great help for tiny screen resolutions, just all windows grouped in one button with small preview of each one when you click on that group button.

by the way I tested the windows mobile center and it syncronized with my HTC Diamond with no problems, I was unable to do that on vista.

P.S my english is far away to be perfect so.... sorry for any mistake ;)

Every now and then my touchpad will stop responding. The buttons work but the mouse itself does not respond. I mostly use an external mouse, but there were times when I did not have the external and the touchpad would not work.

Very annoying. I tried to reinstall the drivers as well. Has anyone else seen this happen?

    for the mouse thing:
    1) install synaptic touchpad drivers
    2) right click on every .exe in the synaptics program folder, and run in compatibly mode

I read somewhere that the scoring on seven is completely different than the one on vista, furthermore the maximum rating on seven is higher than the one on vista.
That would explain why your scoring is different between them.
