google is your friend, also i believe its been mentioned here a few times.

you need to set your windows partition as active using fdisk.

use this guide just reverse it for windows.

if you want windows to boot first, you need to set it as active as i said, then use the chain0 method of booting osx via the xp bootloader.

I know the dilemna you're having, when you set xp to active and you choose osx does it automatically boot to osx or does it give you a timed option? My osx gives me the option to hit anykey to choose bootup options and I just selected xp form the list but since I've reinstalled with iatkos i5 and switched to efi when I choose osx from the vista bootloader it goes staright into osx (I eventually went triple boot with xp,vista,osx and use vista bootloader and it works great for me.)
