Well, I'm glad to see that this has to be a new topic. (Unless, that is, my amateur 'searching' skills haven't turned up anything on this subject, even though the site might be full of entries???) My problem is that my beloved Acer AspireOne 10 inch laptop, which is less than one year old, is blitzing me. Meaning: the palm of my left hand is beginning to hurt in a very strange way... feels like a kind of fire going on in the bone itself.... which stays with me for hours after using the computer. The machine also gets quite hot, right around that area. I started feeling it months ago, but dismissed it. Now, I can hardly use the laptop, because right away this pain starts. On other computers it feels sensitive and a bit sore, but no flare up, like what happens when I try to use the Acer. What is going on here? Has anyone else mentioned something like this? thanks, os

    Funny subject - radiation...

How long your hands are staying on netbook case?? It may be just the way you use them for typing or other activity. Acer keyboard is not perfect and any "normal" keyboard is more ergonomic... So your pain may be related to these issues... Have you tried to put something between your wrists and desk to minimize distance/space/gap between keyboard/case and your wrists??

I too would think it's sort of an OH&S case. More than likely how your hands are resting on the device etc.

Having said this though, in my D250, both mPCI-E slots (WiFi card and 3G card) are under the palm rest, under my left hand. Could this possibly be something to do with the supposed "radiation" from phones and wireless devices that they claim is relaed to cancer?

thanks for the responses. However, it is still a mystery. Both hands have been doing the same work and its only the left that is suffering. Also, there is no such experience when using other computers.... ?? Is this laptop supposed to be getting so hot?

    seriously, radiation....

maybe it's because your hands are cramped on a tiny keyboard for extended periods of time.

One side versus the other may also be how you are sitting when using it, or where it is sitting... this can cause one side of the body to have an issue, but not both.

Again, ergonomics would be my first place to go. Looking at how much testing goes into radiation on these devices, and considering the coatings inside the machine... I seriously doubt it.

Thanks for all the responses. I will look into all suggestions. The thing is, the laptop does get extremely hot, right under the spot on my palm that hurts the most. Is it normal for there to be so much heat?
