    Hi,
Just opened and booted new AO722-bz816 purchased on Amazon for under $300 and surprisingly Windows 7 Professional 32-bit is installed. Was certainly expecting Home Premium 64-bit. Should, can I upgrade the ram too 4gb? Why is Pro installed? Am new to computers, will this netbook have problems with this OS? Thank you.

From a little research it appears that the AO722-BZ816 and the BZ699 come with Win 7 Pro 32 bit installed while most other AO722s, i.e. BZ197, 454, 854, 480 come with Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit. An interesting difference? Go figure. Just give me one 722 at $300 USD on which HP printer Photosmart C4750 or Photosmart C5580 software will install. Maybe I'll buy an AO BZ816 from Amazon and try it.

Windows 7 32 bit should run fine on the machine unless there are bugs in the drivers. Also, you can use a 4GB ram chip. But do note that you will not be able to fully utilize the RAM. Win7 32 bit can only use 3GB RAM. Factor in the 256MB for video, you will not be able to use the remaining .75 GB of RAM.
