Hi I just bought a Aspire One 8.9"Black 120HD & 1Gb Ram With XP on it.

I read a review stating that you could add an SD card in the LH card slot, and confugre linnux to use it as addtional RAM This was a review of a linnux/Linpus version. I have put a 1GB SD card into the LH Storage Expansion slot, but XP just see's this as extra storage space (e.g a D:\ drive). So does this mean it can only be configured this way when running linnux /Linpus?). Or can it be configured under XP to use this as additional system RAM. I dont want to take a new gadget to bits to add extra RAM, if its possible to do it this way.

If this question has been answered already my appologies, but I didnt yet find this exact issue addressed.

    Thanks in advance.

    Stu

The left hand slot is only for additional storage. I don't know if linux has a utility to make it work as RAM, but if there is it would be stupid to use it as suck due to the low transfer speed of SDHC cards vs. internal RAM.

Linpus uses the SD card as additional disk storage, not as additional RAM.

You can download a program called ebooster and it'll make your 1gb sd card as "ram". The computer is much more responsive when under load (e.g. opening 10+ tabs under IE and switching them constantly) when the ebooster program is enabled.
