Currently I use GOM player and was wondering if there is a more efficient player? I have choppiness running a 720p avi file, with 80%-90% cpu usage. All other avi's play really smooth with low cpu usage.

    Aspire One
    1.6ghz
    1gb ram
    160gb HD

Kmplayer with Coreavc codec. 720P and 1080P blueray rips plays with 50-75% cpu ussage.

Does KMplayer come with the coreavc as the default? I loaded up KMplayer and it works much better as is. Tried a 720p file and it worked pretty smooth. I'll dig into it also when i get home tonight. Thanks for the program recommendation!

No, Kmplayer does not come with coreavc as default. You have to pay for coreavc or get it from other sources. Coreavc decrease your CPU ussage by about 15% when playing supported video cordecs. Thus.. it's possible to play at least 15% highier bitrate hi-def videos than the default video codec in kmplayer. With the default codec in kmplayer, it's not possible to play 1080P blueray rip at 24P at all times, but with coreavc, it does this easily.
