Recovery CD screwed my system pls help :(

    I got my new Aspire One 512mb 8GB yesterday YAY!!!!

    Within 3 hours it started having problems. Firstly the mouse hung after 10-20 seconds on reboot then the recovery system screwed my system! Prior to that I had live updated my system and installed VLC.

    The recovery process only gets to 50% and errors. When I boot the machine the machine prints this on a black screen.
    "L99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99" .....et cetera.

    What causes this issue with the recovery process??

    I have a support request in with Acer, but I am mightily annoyed right now :(

    try this, use your recovery CD and booting from external CD/DVDRoom , good luck

    thanks for the advice. I bought a PNY 4GB usb stick and used that, it worked great.
