I got my One about two weeks ago and I am VERY happy with osx on it, but i want half life on it, which is why i need xp. I found i didnt have a recovery disk packaged with my One for some reason. I got the xp model and i haqve the key on the bottom of it. Is there any free AND legal way to get a recovery disk to install xp?

My understanding is that the 'key' is your licence to use XP, wherever you get the software from. Beg, steal, borrow or download a copy, you have the legal license to use it.

As I mentioned in other post, I created my own Windows XP recovery from
    an OEM installation disk.

    What does it have?

Unmodified OEM Windows XP SP3 Home edition *no cracks, unmodified, use your key that
is in the sticker of your laptop.
All the latest drivers injected into the Windows Installation.

So it will just install and won't ask for any drivers, and no bundled software.
I can make a copy for you, free, of course *you'll be using your own serial, you just have to pay shipping.

simply call acer aspire support (Seperate Support) number 1-886-695-2237 and tell them your SN and they will send you recovery disks at no charge.
