so i installed windows 7 ultimate on my new netbook!
    this is what i have:
    acer aspire one A0751h, 11.6"
    1.33ghz atom
    1 gig ram
2 gig sd card (ready boost)
    intel 500 graphics @251mb's
    windows 7 ultimate

im looking to remove the old o.s. from the recovery partition and install the setup files to it, so when that dreaded time comes i can recover it to windows 7 ultimate without worrying about having to find an external dvd drive?

    Any ideas?

Create an additional data partition on the hard drive. Then use Windows 7 backup to write a system image there. The software in the system partition (100mb) should have the ability to restore from that image.

No, windows restore works from the screen which asks if you want to repair or start normally.
