I ran a registry cleaner last night and now cannot boot my Acer. I get a message "windows xp cannot begin, system32\drivers\ntfs.sys corrupt or missing". I'm fairly computer savvy for a 39 yo low tech guy, but I am afraid I need some help here.

You can try Recovery console from CD installer. If this one does not help you may consider OS reinstallation I'm afraid...

yeah, Aspire one doesn't even have a cd with it, nor a cd/dvd rom. I've been thinking of installing linux. Looks like a good time to do it.

Use external one... I know AA1 does not have build-in CD ROM...
