Old foggy here. I have a laptop that was upgraded from win 7 to win 10 a couple years ago. Is it possible to reset the laptop with win 10 still there and not revert back to win 7? If that is not possible, what other options shall I pursue? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the laptop forums site

If I have understood you only wish to keep with Windows 10.

You have a few choices you can have windows 10 that's on your machine
do a reset, this gives you the ability to remove all your software, and start again,
with just the windows 10 system, or you can have windows do a part reset and retain some
but not all your own software that's on it.

The other option is to use this software to obtain a system disk as long as you have the serial
    number.

Don't worry another piece of software will find your serial number if your windows 10 system is still working.

To do the reset option you just need to type rest in the search box in the bottom left hand side.

    Here's the links.

I will try it tonight. I have backed up the files on an external disk for safekeeping. Thanks you very much for your help.
