After removing an application, the icon has remained on the xfce desktop as a 'broken link'.

There seems to be no obvious way to remove/delete it.

    Suggestions?

Yeah, dittobump, with the uninstalled Wine apps.
I don't see any corresponding .desktop files, nor do I come up with anything in searching for the program name still showing.

    Any ideas, o knowledgeable ones?

I don't use wine, but possibly the .desktop files are located here ...

    ~/.local/share/applications/wine/

If they are, delete the ones that you no longer use and they should no longer appear in the menu.

    Cheers.
