I am sick to death of wasting tine trying to get Win 7 to work properky on my new Acer Aspire One 532. The pre-installation of McAfee didn't help. Yet I have NEVER had any problems for years with XP on my Toshiba Qosmio. Now I am thinking of removing Win 7 and installing XP on the Acer. Is this feasible? And if so how please? Thank you - CJB.

hi, it is feasible, i can't tell you exactly how to do it on a netbook since i have only had one a few days and i'm used to using cd's and dvd's for everything.
I know windows 7 can be frustrating at times, but it is the newest thing out that will have the most support, give it some time and it should run just fine soon.
running properly can mean different things to different people. what exactly are you trying to run on it that it won't run "properly" on your netbook? everything that i've thrown at mine, in perspective to what it is, runs fine so far,. but i'm not asking that much from it, maybe powerpoint, internet, and internet radio at the same time or something like that.
and xp is almost 10 years old now, you wont see anymore support from microsoft from it. if the new office works on it you will be lucky and in the next 3 years the next set of MS office for sure wont. Sure xp may seem like a good alternative to 7 right now but xp doesn't have near the features that 7 has nor the support or security that 7 has.
if you want to switch to xp still i'm sure there are some threads that are already posted telling you how, but after using 7 and vista, i can't go back to xp just some of the normal day features like power management and wireless annoy the heck out of me on xp
EDIT: mcafee is garbage anyway try something free like microsoft security essentials, it is much better than that preloaded crap, all they do is suck you in and then try and charge you 50-100 bucks on their terrible software. if you were gonna spend that much upgrade to windows 7 home premium and use the free software
