In Firefox 3 (Fedora 10 XFCE) -- I've installed the compact plugin; the "hide menu bar" addon is apparently not yet available for FF3. The title bar is HUGE in comparison with the rest of the bars. Any way to resize those manually?

    TIA

I don't know how to actually resize the title bar, but you can always choose an XFCE theme with a built-in smaller title bars.

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but I've only been using linux for a couple of months now. Would that require a re-install, or can it be added from a repository?

It's a little easier than that. From your main XFCE menu, choose settings --> window manager. The first tab is style. Click on each style till you find something that suits you -- your windows will change their appearance each time you click on one. There may even be one called tinywindows or something like that. I'm not using Fedora at the moment, so I can't confirm.

(my earlier post mistakenly said change the theme, but it's actually the style you need to change)

    I tried that, and got

    Code:
These settings cannot work with your current window manager (gnome-screensaver)
How do I change my window manager?

I found this. I wonder if the bug might be a little more involved than they thought.

I'm removing gnome-screensaver, and we'll see what happens.

Yes, you must remove the gnome screen server (from add/remove packages). Then you will have to restart I think, and the theme is called small screen or something. I am actually using that for a while now, and it is very nice.
