Hello, I'm BenRK. I recently got my self a used Acer Aspire One D250 netbook. It was terribly cheap, and for good reason too. The hard drive that was in it was dead, the BIOS had a password on it, it was for all intents and purposes dead. Well, after replacing the hard drive (that's starting to act up now) and managing to completely clear the BIOS (that's a tale for another day), I've got my self a working netbook with the following specs.

Standard Intel atom 270 at 1.6GHz, but you knew that
Intel GMA 950 stuff, but you knew that as well
2GBs of RAM (that was part of my upgrades for it)
500GB hard drive (maybe the bigger laptop drives die faster?)
And it's running Windows 7 Pro like a champ with Aero enabled and video playback better then what I was expecting.

Anyway, I've been experimenting with putting games on my netbook. Yes, I know that it's not meant for gaming, but what's the harm in trying out a few things? I've got stuff like Peggle and World of Goo running with no problems, Minecraft running with low draw distance, and even World of Warcraft at a low but acceptable frame rate (for me anyway). So I decided to try a harder game to get running. Oblivion.

Well, I wanted to, but I can't get Oblivion to even start, let alone tweak it to run better. Every time I try to launch it, the black box thing in the corner shows up as normal, but after a moment, an error pops up saying Oblivion has stopped working. And this is running it through the Oblivion launcher and the Oldblivion launcher. I've been looking through Google, but I can't find a clear answer. I'm wondering if anyone here knows what's going on and if any help can be found.

Lastly, I know this isn't going to run all that well if I can get it to start, but there's no fun to be had if I just give up trying. ;)

Ok, I figured it out. I was using the latest version of Oblivion, which Oldblivion doesn't support. Means no Shivering Isles for my netbook, but that's ok. It doesn't run the best it could, but that's what mods are for, right? Still looks great for being on low settings.

For future reference, Oblivion needs to be version 1.1.511 to run with Oldblivion, meaning you can't install Shivering Isles. But that's ok, as I said. Oblivion is still fun without it.
