Any tips for some useful programs for school-use?

Can you be a bit more specific, or suggest groups?

Mostly science for starters, but math would also help a lot, as i think there perhaps might be some better calc out there than the one bundled with Linpus? Tried to find a good program for the periodic table, but i didn't succeed installing Kalzium :(

I already have FreeMind, and i plan to get Semantik (previously Kdissert) as soon as i figure out why it's complaining about g++ not being installed. Anything other than that i can't think of right now, as school hasn't started yet and i'm not sure what will be useful until i need it. Unless you know of some programs other than OOo and spellcheck that can help me in the English and Norwegian courses :p And i guess Wikipedia + Google will cover most of the history-part.

Now that the repos are up and running again, i managed to install kdeedu-3.5.9 and kdissert via the packet manager. At this point i think the kdeedu-3.5.9 covers most of my needs :)

One thing I miss in the Kdeedu-package is a software for creating timelines...
