scrolling freezes office writer

    I am inept with computers and very new to the Aspire One. I've had my Linux One a few days. Recently I downloaded a document onto Open Office Writer, and now, whenever I try to scroll it, it freezes for a time and then I can scroll a bit more and then it freezes, and so on. Once I have managed to scroll the whole document I can scroll up and down with impunity. What am I doing wrong?

    P.S. The website I downloaded from is Levi Reiss' Linux 4 Windows. I've tried a couple of other websites without the problem occurring. Humpf!
