Hello folks, wondering if anyone can help me :D

I got an 8GB SD Card today and inserted it into the expansion slot and it immediately recognized and added itself to my 8GB SSD Drive.
My problem is this, i'm currently running linpus but i'm going to install W7, so when i took the card out and then put it in a vista desktop it's not being shown in my computer. So i tried to change the file system of the card in GParted but i can't seem to get it right. When it's in the vista machine and i r-click the location of the card, explorer hangs, i've downloaded SD card formatting tools which should do the job BUT.. when i start the programs, THEY hang, until i take out the SD card! Then the work away grand but if i put the card back in of course, nothing!

So what can i do to get my SD Card working under windows again?
    Thanks in advance!

Just an idea - AAO has two SD card slots, one which "adds to size of main drive" and a normal one. Have you tried using GParted with the SD card in the normal slot?

The most compatable format accross operating systems is FAT. It is not the best OS. If you make it FAT until you have made the switch to W7, you will be able to convert it to NTFS under W7.

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes i have actually managed to format the card to fat and to ntfs but still the card will not read in windows, so this is my problem.

I have another card which works but not this one so it's not the card reader!

So is it because the SD Cards first use was to go in the machines expansion slot? Has this in some way caused it to not be usable in windows? It's so strange, i've worked with so many cards in the past but this is the first time anything like this has happened. Also, i've checked the card with a camera as well and it works fine so i'm thinking it must be windows? I can't get my head around it!
