    Hi all

have had my AAO for about a month now, but still having problems with it.

It came with Linux which I couldnt get on with, so I installed XP on it, no problems with the install, still have a couple of tweaks to get it how I want it.

My problem lies with the SDHC card I purchased, it is a Synapses 32GB card, I want to put all my .Avi files onto it, I format the card in the Left hand side expansion slot, I then copy my .Avi files across, when I come to play them only some of them will play, the drive recognises that the file is there and space is taken up on the SD card, but when I double click on it to open the file VLC media player opens the filw but it doesnt play it registers the length of the film as 0 minutes

This is really starting to annoy me because I chose the AAO over the new Archos 7.

Can anyone help me with my dilemma as this is the only thing stopping me from enjoying my AAO experience

    Thanks
    Jon :ugeek:

Obviously you've installed all necessary codecs...

    Hi

Yes all the codecs have been updated through VLC, that was the first thing I thought, am thinking now to perhaps just go down the route of an external hard drive

Faulty sd card is very likely. I struggled with files disappearing or refusing to be deleted from a brand new and expensive SDHC for weeks. Until someone on this forum suggested that the card might be corrupted. I bought a new card (different make!) and everything has been fine since.

    Hi

I have rectified the problem, The SD card was at fault so I went and bought a 8Gb Sandisk sdhc card, this has no problem retaining the information or copying to and from it!

thanks to everyone who tried to help

    Jon
