SD Card Reader Problem

Hi, Running acer 1 linpus I want to keep this distro just now as the kids are OK using it. When I insert an SD card into the right slot I cannot get it to mount. It mounts if the card is in the slot at Boot up. I seem to remember that it might have worked before ran live update. Any suggestions?
