Hello everyone. Newbie here. I just got an AA1 8.9, 160/6, Win XP. This is my first laptop and first anything with card slots. The pdf manual I was looking at online before I purchased this great little machine said the slot on the left side "Accepts one Secure Digital (SD) card, used to expand the capacity of My Files". It goes on to say "This slot is for expanding My Files long-term. For transferring files to and from other devices, use the 5-in-1 card reader." Is this a Linux OS thing, or does this also apply to Windows XP? If it does apply to XP, what am I gaining by installing a card "long term"? The owners manuals that came with it don't say anything about this. (As far as file transfers go, I'm content with USB drives.)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Get a fast, at least, 2 GB SD card and eboostr. This speeds up everything quite a bit while helping battery life.

(2 GB seems to be about the rught amount of memory for eboostr although you can certainly get a bigger SD card and allocate 2 GB and use the rest for something else. I got a bigger card and put all me mp3 files there.)
