    Hi,

Is there a way to configure the SD Expansion slot as a non-merged disk? It would be nice to install W7 on a SDHC card(as C:) and use the ordinary disk(120GB) as D:-drive. Can this be done?

Tricky since you can't boot off the SD card.

If you open up the file manager you will find "View as advanced mode" under the "View" menu. Click that, and your drive will become a separate volume.

Yes you can, in both windows XP and linpus. No you won't be able to boot an os from it.
The SD slot doesnot function until drivers are loaded (ie once an OS starts to load), so the only way to do that would be to run windows 7 in a virtual machine after the first OS has loaded and to be honest I think that would be a little too resource intensive for a netbook to handle.

So here's a question in the SSD Expansion vein...

Ever since I've added the expansion card any picture or file that I have downloaded or imported from a digital camera won't appear in the Picture folder when I attempt to import them into Picasa 3 and upload them to the web (facebook & web albums).

Is the any way to go directly into the expansion card directly through these menus?

    Thanks

    Hi Kinger
Can you confirm that you are using Linux and have the SSD version? If you are using Windows the rest of this message may not mean much and the normal Windows file structure will apply.
How are you importing the picture files to the AAO? e.g. Are you using an SD card from the camera and if so which slot do you put it in, Left or Right?

If you are on Linux open File Manager and select View on the top menu bar, then select Side Pane and tick Tree. This should then give you a Menu down the left hand side and with a card inserted you will see a graphic of a card and SD/MMC Drive or depending on your camera it may have another name. Select that and on the right you will see the contents of the card.

Any SD card data appears in the directory /media/disk. When you try to find a picture that you stored on a card this is the directory you need to find to do anything with it.

If you look under some of the other threads under Expansion + Ports you will find further details of what the file structure is under Linux

    Best wishes

Yes, my AA1 is indeed Linux and SSD version.

I've been importing them from an SD card inserted into the right hand slot by copy and pasting them into my Picture folder.

I have put a 8 Gb SD card into the left hand expansion slot.

I will try these suggestions. Thanks you for your help.
