Hey everyone. Just got my Aspire One and am trying to hack my way to a comfortable OS. I'm trying to get the windows to shade, but double clicking and clicking the shade button do nothing. Anyone know how to re-enable the shade feature in XFCE?

There's Xfce documentation on the AAO.

Well, without wishing to insult your intelligence, one way of finding the Xfce documentation on the AAO is to right-click on the Home screen and select Help from near the bottom of the Desktop Menu that pops up. I think you'll find what you're after in the Window Manager Manual, a link for which is at the bottom of the page that opens.

I'm pretty sure you can find Xfce documentation links here, it's just that what's on the AAO is more up-to-date, and you don't need to be online to browse it. If you don't happen to have your AAO on you at the moment try Xfce 4 Window Manager and search for shade.

    Enough for you?

All of the solutions I've found don't work, they've disabled shading.
I was expecting a better answer than RTFM from this place ;)
I've installed xfce from scratch and it works now.

Guys, I'm a complete linux noob...
So I'm just going to go ahead and ask:
What does Shade Windows do? I've tried it and it doesn't seem to do anything.

For that matter, could anyone tell me what Stick and Hide do? Same thing.

First time xfce user. But, I think I can answer stick/hide.

Stick puts a window into all workspaces. Hide is "minimize". Shade, I thought, was roll-up. Does seem to be missing.
