You should've probably researched on the products you buy more thoroughly. Acer announced that they would release a winxp, 120gb version pretty much the same time they announced the linux, SSD version. :?

...for $30 less than what you paid for the original!

Research or no research, you probably wouldn't have predicted that one.

Netbooks are all in their infancy right now. They are going to evolve very quickly it they stay popular. Once intel develops the dual core atom processor these things are going to be much better.

I'm expecting before the year is out to at least see a model with at least 16gb built in SSD with more RAM, and better webcam. That is just speculation though.

Atom is not dual core, they are a single core processor that is multi-threaded.

It's not entirely multithreaded. It's capable of multithreading. It should be called SMT (simultanous mulithreading). It gives you about 30% performance boost. True multithreaded processors give you almost 100% performance boost.

You have used it for a month, and that has no value!

I bought mine, and then Acer dropped the price $50 a week later. Couldn't have seen that coming and it made me MAD. Thankfully the retailer was more than happy to refund me the difference.

plug: Buy from JR Electronics! http://www.jr.com

They made me a happy customer.

Lesson learned, stuff happens and things change quickly. You'll never buy anything if you're always waiting for the next model or the next big thing. My little sister was buying a computer and kept saying "I'm afraid to buy now because they're going to have faster ones out soon." and I just said "yeah...you'll be waiting a while because they'll never stop making faster ones."

You just have to hunker down and commit, then afterward you can decide if you want to A. make it work or B. sell it off and try again...I chose B. lol

    Hi

I imagine these companies are feeling just a lttle nervous, after spending millions on r+d production etc to release a new product in the middle of the worse global downturn we in the west have seen for some time.....

It is no wonder that there is a price war of sorts going on as these companies try to capture market share. Asus Acer MSI Lenovo and soon to arrive Dell will all be slugging it out, come that most lucrative time of year for them...Xmas!
