showing plugged in even after disconnection of power cable

When i disconnect my PD capable laptop from my 65W PD charger, (via usb c to usb c cable), after charging y laptop sufficiently, the status shows plugged in with the plugged in icon in my system tray.. This charging led stays on even after i shut down the laptop and the status remains unchanged when i reboot. The only way to end this is to open up the laptop back cover and disconnect the battery terminal to mobo (or perhaps allow it to drain to zero).


....now for the clincher! If i pd charge via the pd charging port on a usb c dock all is fine when i disconnect and the led and status behaves as it should


Could someone figure out what is going on. This is the first time I am using a pd charger for laptop. Is ther some special way to disconnect?


I use an Avita laptop with BIOS updated and ports cleaned
