Sid Meiers Pirates

I love this game and it seems the it would run great one the AA1. I was just wondering if anyone has it running? I own the game in steam and it pops up "preparing to launch pirates" then nothing. No error code no anything. I was wondering if it's worth getting a retail copy and giving it another try. Other steam games work just fine for me though. Heck I even got Team Fortress 2 running good enough to play a little engineer.

 

I tried this with a retail disc before I switched my OS to Mac OS X and it worked great. The game ran smoothly on fairly decent settings but if I remember correctly this game required the disc be in the drive during play so to get it working without an external drive you will probably need either a hacked exe or one of the disc cloning solutions.
