I have an Aspire One running Linux lite 1.0.21.E 16 GB SSD bios version 0.3309. 8.9 inch screen

There is a simm card slot behind the battery pack, but the Network tab in the system smmary screen lists 3G as N/A

Is this slot wired and ready to go or is it a dummy slot waiting for future developments on new models?

If the slot is live can I us my O2 simm card with my Aspire One?

I can't get it to work with my 0" broadband dongle.

Is your AA1 3G capable?? If not and 3G modem is not build-in then this SIM card holder is not present too - it's just gap behind battery but there is nothing else... There are mods available to put SIM card holder and 3G modem to AA1...

if you flip over you machine, you will see a cover that can be opened easily by screw driver, that slot is prepared to install the 3G module, but earlier model still do not have that module built-in. It is possible to install a 3G/HSDPA module for both linux and windows, but the problem for linux is the driver
