I like Open Arena and Alien Arena a lot but single player mode on them is lacking to say the least (no missions/story, just a death match against bots). Any suggestions as far as an FPS that's fun to play in single player mode for when I don't have internet access? Bonus if it has old-school Wolfenstein 3D/Doom-style controls so I don't need a mouse to play but whatever is great as long as there's a decent single-player mode and it runs well on my little 110.

    Thanks!

Why not install something like PrBoom (part of Fedora):

    http://prboom.sourceforge.net/about.html

and play your doom wads? There are some free wads too, like this:

    http://freedoom.sourceforge.net/

Here are more FPS, take your pick:

I'm liking this Freedoom. There's also a package called Vavoom that installs Doom, Heretic and Hexen but unfortunately it seems to be the shareware versions.

As well as the ones that have already been mentioned, Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein, Spear of Destiny, Shadow Warrior, Quake, and Quake 2 all have linux ports and freely available shareware/demo level packs.
