    Hello,
I wonder if someone managed to install latest 2.1 release of Skype on the default Linpus. I tried with the Fedora 9 rpm from Skype website and ended up in screwing up all the installation. I had to reinstall the OS from the DVD (which btw is a sort a Russian Roulette until you find out a usb pendrive and a PC that the damn Acer bullshitware accepts)

Someone sorted out to install latest skype on Linpus?

I got the 2.1 beta for Fedora 9 version to install, but it wouldn't run. Too bad because I'm having lots of trouble with the "stable" version.

Darryl, my question was not how to instal skype on the AAO, I've been using the older version supplied by Acer. My intention was to upgrade to the latest beta, which supports sms text sending.
The new skype version for Fedora comes only in 9 and 10 versions, which are NOT compatible with the Linpus OS.
Anyway, I installed the static binary from Skype, and it works.
