    Re: no more kernels

    Hello SICKBOY,

I understand you will stop supporting the kernels you've been sharing the last months. It's a shame, but understandable. I'm sure there are many, many people grateful for your efforts! I hope you'll continue to work on the kuki project so we can enjoy your kernels in future.

I feel if you would have just been less active on support (or just ignored calls for help) and relied on the community for further support, you would not have felt so frustrated with the users on this forum. For example your last comment is quite harsh and I think you should have just ignored the question..

Hopefully good luck with the Kuki project!

Same thing from here, you've given me a very good start to compile my own 'spinnie' kernel. I think you did the right thing.

    Re: The Sickboy kernel story

Just a note of thanks! Most of the time I posted, I was asking for something I had trouble getting to work. I've compiled kernels before, but I'm really glad you saved me the time. To get some of this stuff working. Good luck!

    Re: The Sickboy kernel story

Thanks, Sickboy for your excellent work! I'll sure try Kuki-me when the new release comes up.
I am so happy for the fast development of several more or less working Ubuntu based distros for the AAO, cause the socalled Linpus (and Acer's lack of supprot and upgrading) has been a big disappointment.

I understand your reaction, and sorry if I am a part of the HIDT-users (How-I-do-that ?).

Thanks again for your kernel, it saved my acer and give me back the envy to learn how to make a "kernel compilation".
Because I need more specifics options and your kernel is a perfect base to do that.

If it works, it will be a pleasure to share this kernel-rt for AA1.

One day, It will be mine, Oh yes...

    Re: The Sickboy kernel story

I can someone advise the best way to upgrade from Kernel 2.6.28-rc8-custom-aa1 to the newer Kuki 0.2 alpha ?

Should I uninstall the old kernel, prior to installing the new ??

    Many Thanks

SIckBoy - thanks for making these kernels.. makes the acer one a fantastic device :)

    Re: The Sickboy kernel story

Install the .deb file and it will automatically add a new entry to the grub menu. When you boot your AAO press Escape to access the menu and choose the new kernel. Edit /boot/grub/menu.lst to set the default kernel.

The bottom line is that you can have multiple kernels installed and pick and choose which you want to run.

    Re: The Sickboy kernel story

Many thanks.. I'll try that and see how I get on !!
Last time I upgraded it didn't create the grub menu option.. I had to do that manually.

    Re: The Sickboy kernel story

thanks for your continued work on this. i "only" used your .config for compiling my own kernels in suse.
booting time more than halfs with the resulting kernel!
kde is stating after roughly 15 secs of pressing power button and system is usable after 30-45 secs.
all hardware including usb bluetooth dongle is working for me.

    nowt i could moan about.

    thanks a lot man!!

Hi thanks for all your hard work.
What are the changes from 2.6.28 .2 to 2.6.28.4?
In other words is it worth upgrading
