I recently purchased a Acer Aspire One AO751h-1192. But the Internet seems to be quite slow on it which I believe is because of the processor. So is there anyway to improve the speed while browsing the internet? Thanks.

The computer won't change your internet speed. It may take longer to load pages but that could be because of many things... i.e., the amount of multitasking you are doing as well as background processes and plugins and crap that load with your browser. My internet connection speed is a 3M/b connection and its still pretty quick on these little things. I recently installed Google Chrome because Firefox keeps crashing on me and I think it runs quicker than Firefox does. Give it a shot and tell me what you think.

Ok thanks, it's just I have a regular laptop and the internet pages load up really quick on it, then I have the netbook and it just seems to take a while before the internet page loads up on it.

We recently changed our internet provider and have a 20Mbit connection now. Some people here in the household (i´m student) had problems and doesen´t achieve the 20Mbit on their laptops. There is a little program for windows, called TCP Optimizer and this solved most of the problems: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

I suggest to run some internet speed-tests before and after making the changes. And Rocket is right, chrome is actually the fastest browser, plus it needs minimal space on your screen.

Ok Ill try that, but I was reading online today that it only had a 1.2GHz processor. Is there anyway to upgrade the processor?

Im 98% sure that your internet is not the main issue, it probably Internet Explorer running slowly.

Try an alternate browser, like Google's Chrome- people say that works well on this slow processor.

And no, you can't upgrade the cpu.

Try the new Opera 10.0 with the very useful Turbo feature.

Do NOT download and install that program. Its one of the fake "anti-virus / anti-malware" tools that once installs tells you a lot of things are wrong with the pc, and if you want to fix it you have to buy the license, when in reality nothing is wrong. Google for "fake anti malware" and you will see the same program screens shown.
