I just got black unit. Smudges are really bad. First tried rainx, didn't do much, then I tried car wax!
NO more smudges. Car wax on your cover!!

What kind of car wax did you use?

My black AA1 is really showing finger prints, and it's only a day old!

Ivanhead, good suggestion. I used NuFinish liquid car wax. Just a dab or two on the top, lightly applied with moistened soft cotton cloth in small circular patterns. Polished with dry soft cotton cloth. Pretty good protection. I can still see some light fingerprinting but they wipe off much more easily now.
Maybe Acer needs to change their paint schemes to something like Lenovo has on their Thinkpad laptops.

    Great tip Ivanhead! :D

Used a dab of Mequiar's here, then a soft rag to polish it and ...wallah....fingerprints are alot less, and easier to get off.

doesn't car wax make it slippery and easy to drop?

If you don't like the idea of furniture polish (solvents in sprays may interact with the plastic, BTW), try a product called Renaissance Wax. It was developed by curators for preservation of museum exhibits. Good for everything from metals to ivory.

I just got a jar and applied it to my top skin and the touchpad area. It made some small marks disappear from the skin, and although I can still leave prints on the touchpad area, they aren't as noticeable and wipe away more easily.
