I recently replaced a cracked screen on my Aspire One and after about 20 minutes of use it started to smoke. I turned it off promptly and opened it up. It seems that a small black wire (or it was black because of some sort of wrapping and is now black because it is burnt) had melted its coating off. The wire is located near the power button (upper right hand corner) and runs along a metal plate that I assume is the power or a fan of some sort. Is this something that will continue to burn or now that it melted the plastic off will it stop burning? Maybe the fan is broken? Any ideas? Also anyone think this is repairable? I'm hoping so since I spent $70 on a new screen

    Hi.
What model number do you have?

I know that on my AOA-150 (or ZG5) that the wire that runs through there is an antenna wire for the wi-fi... still, you need to figure out why it grounded out to put power through it enough to burn it.

Again, more info, and maybe we can walk/talk you through it.
