    Hmmm...
Just like the first days when I got a380, I just had no idea why it wasn't working...
Maybe you can try opening the install.mpkg under a working (snow)leopard, and see if the installation works?

    Hi Guys!

I read the oficial realease date for the 10.6, and come in this topic again!

I can't read the all 17 pages of the topic cause I'm on work now, but some questions:

The installation process for the final release will be the same described in the first page?
Is there any changes on the processes on the latest preview?
I don't know very well, but the next version's vanilla kernel suports HT (based on the first page screenshot)?

Re: Snow Leopard - working here + guide

I don't think anyone in the world (except anyone from apple) know if they got the real GM...
So it is a lil bit too early to tell if everything is still the same!

I myself did not download 10a432, so I can't comment on that. HT works vanilla afaik (at least in dev seeds)

Can't wait to get the retail dmg!!!

Same here... I have given up trying with the different builds and just wait for experts to work their magic with the real release. ;)

Re: Snow Leopard - working here + guide

Gona stick with the new iatkos team builds methinks. The main starting problem will be recompiling kexts for both 32 and 64 bit. And rewriting or even writing from scratch the kexts that no longer work. And then theres getting round probably new apple protection (eg appleintelcpupowermanagement and dsmos)
I think that more info is needed on dsdt hacking. Because loads and loads of problems can be solved by dsdt, ed hda, cpu info,, graphics etc...

Re: Snow Leopard - working here + guide

The fact that aoa lacks of 64 bit support actually reduced lots of 64bit extensions related problems!
And netkas has just released fakesmc, which works perfectly with don't steal mac os x to provide vanilla decryption.
To me, it is an evolution of dsmos (even though it has much greater importance than this)
I am still wondering when can I get SL running on my amd desktop... this really sucks

it is confirmed that the retail version of Snow Leopard is 10a432. See MacRumors site for details.

That's hope new SL version of iDeneb/iATKOS/iPC/etc will show up soon

Re: Snow Leopard - working here + guide

I read the Apple´s official uncompatible applications list, and found me very frustrated when I read that Parallels 3 is not compatible with Snow Leopard...

If we run SL one day on our AAOs, we must to say goodbay for the virtualization, at least with Parallels Desktop...

    Isnt there parallels 4?
And why not try it anyway? You have nothing to lose by doing so.

Re: Snow Leopard - working here + guide

Hi Rory! The parallels 4 requires a processor capable of virtualization, what the Atom isn't.
So when launching the version 4 of Parallels, the program ends with an error message.

    I got 10a432 working!
Try this if you still can't boot the install disc:
format an ext hd with gpt format
restore the dmg (tick the "erase" option)
install cham2 r640 (i used the bin package)
create your own extensions.mkext in extra with only disabler, fakesmc(from netkas), voodoops2, uuid
you should be able to boot it...
the rest is ok for my original guide

Re: Snow Leopard - working here + guide

is it possible at all to just 'update' to 10a432 instead of having to reinstall ( and redownload) snow leopard?

edit1: second question, do we need the fakesmc (or the new dsmos) for 10a432?
