    Hi

New AA1. All OK so far but have noticed one thing that's very weird.

If my wifi router is on and then I put the AA1 on it won't connect to it. If I leave the AA1 on and then reboot the router the AA1 connects fine. This is completely repeatable. It's like the AA1 can't quite find the router (though it is trying to connect, offering up the right SSID etc) but reboot the router and all is well.

It's not a showstopper (put AA1 on first, then put the router on) but any suggestions would be welcome as it is a tad odd.

    Thanks,
    Rowantree

Have you any restrictions in force on your router? Like, for instance, a limit on the number of DHCP clients it will accept?

(Mine has static DHCP set up for all the machines likely to connect regularly, and will allow one DHCP slot for others; if that was already in use and a new machine tried to connect it would fail; but if the router was then rebooted it might well happen to assign the slot to the new machine first. This could be what you're seeing).

No... but I've found the solution. I mentioned this to a friend and he said oh that happens in Vista too and all you have to do is switch the SSID broadcasting back on; I have WPA and MAC address filtering on also, so switching back on the SSID isn't traumatic.

    And now it's fine!

Apparently a known bug with Vista - and perhaps Linux too... anyway, it's OK now.

    Cheers,
