Software Updater problem

    When I use Software Updater I get a list of about 100 updates available. I am running Linpus.

    However when I click Apply Updates I get the following message whilst the PC is resolving dependencies.

    Missing Dependency: gecko-libs = 1.8.1.16 is needed by package yelp
    notification-daemon-xfce conflicts with notify-daemon

    What do I do as the whole update fails when I accept the message so I cannot update any of the listed software applications?

    Please answer in simple terms that I can understand.
