software updates and other questions

hello,

I think the aspire might do as a small ultra portable alternative to my all singing laptop.

but a couple of things I need to know if you guys can help.

1) I'd like to swap docs between office 2007 & open office - will acer automatically update open office to 3.0 when released (with its support for docx) ? Can I download the beta already ?
2) can I use my 3G usb dongle with the acer (although its so hopeless I don't know why I care)
3) is there a program installed to read pdfs?

1) not that I know of, acer do not write open office, no idea if they will provide an update.
