I got my AA1 a few days ago, and am really impressed with it. The following are software that I have installed, most of them are freeware.

    7-zip - Power user's zip software
PrimoPDF - Print driver to print to pdf
CableNut - Optimizes settings for internet connections. After loading configuration for cable, speed went from 150kb down/up to 12mb down, 2mb up on Comcast
    CCleaner - Crap Cleaner
Starter - CodeStuff Starter, easy control over what programs are started during startup
ALZip - Winzip clone, great for everyday use
IrfanView - Photo viewer / resizer
JetAudio - alternative to Windows Media Player
    JkdefragGUI - defrag utility
    Firefox 3.0
    NoteTab Light - notepad replacement
Office 2003 - Removed Office 2007 trial version. Office 2003 is pretty speedy on this little aa1, I'm sure OpenOffice would work great too.
Windows Defender - Microsoft's free adware/spyware program, seems to work well with Mcafee.
Mcafee antivirus/firewall - there are better programs out there, but mcafee is free for Comcast and has always worked well for me.
