[solved] Reducing the size of desktop icons

    There is a setting that seems to allow the desktop icons to be re sized downwards so they dont look like a 'Janet & John go walking' primary school book.

    However it does not appear to do anything.

    Any thoughts how to adjust their size ?

    xfce-setting-show

    click on run

    click on destop

    behavior

    look after desktop icons / icon size! ;)

    Yes thats the setting I mentioned. It doesnt do anything regardless of which of the two font sizes you change.

    Are you trying to change the icon size for the Acer default desktop, or the 'real' xfce desktop?

    The icon sizes on the 'real' desktop do respond to that setting; they actually change in front of you while you change the size in the Desktop Setting dialog!

    The Acer desktop, on the other hand, is handled by a binary called xfdesktop2, provided specifically by Acer, and I can't see any settings or config file for it, so I'd guess the icon sizes are hard coded - which would make it a change the code & re-compile job.

    Icon size. Theprevious message was correct in that you cant do it in the Linpus desktop. I now have an XFCE desktop & can customise my icon sizes at will.
